Why I love Photoshop – Getting Rid of Noise

  Below photo was taken with a Sanyo digicam that I had, which was unbelievably noisy even at ISO 100 and below was taken with ISO 178.  Thanks to photoshop, it took only a few seconds to get rid of the noise and considerably brighten the photo and make it perfectly useable for web viewing.  There was a lot of ugly noise everywhere, in the shadows, my shirt (and there still is but not objectionable) and the whole picture was dark and muddy, but as you can see, nothing that can’t be fixed.

Great Videos – Nothing Compares 2 U

  The song of course is one of the better ones of the past century.  Written by Prince, the lyrics are powerful and raw and sound as good today as they did all those years ago.  I love big fancy videos which ooze visual artistry and creativity (michel gondry, spike jonze, hype williams) but the video here is perfect due to its very simplicity.  When you have such a powerful performance from O’ Connor, anything else would simply be distracting.    Nothing Compares 2 U video

Is Friday the best movie ever?

No probably not.  At the end of the day though, a movie should entertain you and Friday does it and how!  No its no Schindler’s List or The Artist, how could it be, its only 500 times better than either.  Friday is so funny, it makes any comedy look serious.  Chris Tucker raw and unleashed is a sight to behold.  Long before he gave up cursing and making movies only with Jackie Chan, Tucker was one of the funniest people around.  Money Talks was another hilarious movie but cannot even come close to Friday. I have watched Friday about 5 times since I first saw it about a year ago and it never gets old.  The other two Fridays are great but again the absence of Tucker is to great a void to fill and Omar Epps (or the writers) very wisely went a completely different direction with his character rather than even attempt to imitate Tucker.
